Our Goal
As a sub-committee, we push to help assist officers and their families to understand the job of the police department and provide resources to help the family stay together. We will provide different handouts and tools to help assist with the life as an officer and the concerns the family may have. We are here to help them with different obstacles that will arise throughout their officer’s career; shift changes, specific calls they handled, and getting them ready for retirement.

Introductions from the Co-Chairs
Tabitha Varner
My name is Tabitha Varner, my husband Cpl Timothy Varner has been with LPD for 10 years. We have four beautiful children and the cutest 3 year old grandson! Family has always been a very important part of my life and helping other families who are going through this crazy Blue Life as well is a passion of mine. This is why I am so excited to be a part of this Family Readiness Board! I'm looking forward to what this group is going to bring to our PD family!
Introductions from the Co-Chairs
Charlee Jennings
My name is Charlee Jennings. I’ve been with the police department for 12 years and currently work in person crimes. I’m also married to an 18 year corporal, Brooks Jennings who is part of patrol on motors. We have two daughters, a teen and a feisty toddler. Family is my number one priority and when the wellness program started I felt like there was a need for a family committee. I never got to meet my grandmother due to her committing suicide when my mother was only 16 years old, no family should have to go through that kind of pain. I want to help break the stigma around mental health and let people know it’s okay not to be okay and be able to give them the right resources for seeking help.
